What kind of services does Progressive Medicine Associates Medical Care Clinic provide?

Our caring and dedicated Physician Assitant can treat almost all minor injuries and illnesses; such as upper respiratory infections, sore/strep throat, eye, and ear infections, fractures, lacerations, allergic reactions, urinary tract infections, and many more.  Along with these, we also provide a wide variety of diagnostic and preventative services, which include lab work, x-rays, vaccinations, and physicals.

What forms of payment/insurance does Progressive Medicine Associates accept?

Progressive Medicine Associates accepts almost all major insurance health plans.  We make every possible effort to be in contact with as many insurance providers as possible in order to provide you with the best possible care.  For those who do not have insurance Progressive Medicine Associates offers a self-pay and affordable option in which you may pay via cash, Visa, or Mastercard for the services rendered.

Will I be seen by a Physician Assistant?

Yes, as an established patient you may also opt to schedule an appointment to see the Physician.

Will it cost me more to go to a walk-in medical care clinic than just going to the emergency room?

For all non-life-threatening conditions, Progressive Medicine Associates should be used.  Progressive Medicine Associates is definitely more convenient as well as costs effective option.  With much lower co-pays and immediate care available, there is no question Progressive Medicine Associates is a smart choice.

What do I need to bring with me?

Please bring a photo ID and your insurance card with you when you visit Progressive Medicine Associates.  Please be sure to let our staff know of ANY allergies, current medications, and your medical history.  All persons under the age of 18, should be accompanied by a legal guardian in order to be seen.

Do your physician assistants refer patients to specialists?

Yes, we handle urgent problems such as sprains, fractures, lacerations, vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, etc. immediately and refer patients to the appropriate specialist the next day or immediately if the illness warrants.

Do your physician assistants have regular patients?

We are a walk-in care facility; however, some patients use us as their primary care provider.

What information can be found in my health record?

A health record is created any time you see a health professional such as a doctor, nurse, dentist, chiropractor, or psychiatrist. You could find the following in your health record:

  • Your medical history and your family’s medical history
  • Labs and x-rays
  • Medications prescribed
  • Alcohol use and sexual activity
  • Details about your lifestyle (smoking, exercise, recreational drug use, high-risk sports, stress levels)
  • Doctor/nurse notes

  • Any Information you provide on applications for disability, life or accidental insurance with private insurers or government programs

Can my personal health information be used and disclosed without any notice to me or without my informed consent at the time of treatment?

Yes.

The Amended HIPAA Privacy Rule states only that you must receive a Privacy Notice telling you how your personal health information will be used and disclosed. Section 164.520(c) (2) (i) (A).
Privacy Notices are often mistaken for consent forms, but they are simply notices telling you what will happen to your medical records.
